Please note that some walks involve mountainous terrain and clothing for all types of weather,  maps, compass etc should be taken at all times

We have a stock of maps available which guests are welcome to borrow. We also have a pair of walking poles and a compass available .

The Newton Stewart Walking Festival is held each May  The Festival is for walkers at all levels and some information about this event is given in the following pages.

 Portpatrick iteslf is a great centre for walking and a selection of  local walks are on an earlier page. Is is also an ideal base for touring Mull of Galloway
