Portpatrick Folk Festival is an annual event held on the first weekend of September

The Tide Machine - a unique floating theatre will be in Portpatrick Harbour during the entire weekend.
If weather permits, a number of infomal sessions are held outdoors on the harbour front as well as concerts in the village hall, and sessions in the Crown Hotel in Portpatrick and other hotels in Portpatrick.
Portpatrick`s own "Life o Reilly" will feature throughout the weekend.
The Festival opens at 7.00 pm on Friday with ScottMcCaig piping on the Dorn Rock a.k.a. McCooks Crag at Portpatrick Harbour.
There is a ceilidh in our village hall on the Friday night which features Life o Reilly. (BYO)
10.30 pm there is a performance in the harbour from the Tide Machine.
On Saturday afternoo at 4pm there is a further Tide Machine performance and therem will be pub sessions.
On Saturday night at 7.30 the concert stars the Rua McMillan Trio and also Elena Piras plus Belfast Folklore.
On Sunday morning at 7.30 am there is the traditional swim round the harbour (hang-over cure!!) Then further sessions on Sunday afternoon.

The 2010 Portpatrick Folk Festival was an outstanding success and the favourable weather enabled many outdoors session.
Highlight for us was the Saturday evening concert in Portpatrick Village Hall which headlined Breabach - we enjoyed it so much, we even bought their cd.
