Walkfest - the Newton Stewart Walking Festival is the biggest walking festival in the South of Scotland. Newton Stewart is only 40 minutes away from Portpatrick so you can easily stay with us at Rickwood Guest House while enjoying the walks.

The Festival starts on Friday 6 May and continues until the following Thursday. There are several walks each day ranging from moderate through moderate plus, strenuous to very strenuous.

There is also evening entertainment including Geocaching at Kirroughtree Visitor Centre,a supper at House o Hill Hotel, a talk by RSPB and a talk on geology at the Gem rock Museum in Creetown

The walks are a great mix of mountain, hill, woodland, country roads and coastal walks

Rickwood House in Portpatrick is an ideal base for taking part in Newton Stewart Walkfest 2011.
