There are a number of excellent golf courses in and near Portpatrick, the closest being Portpatrick Golf Club itself which is just a few minutes walk from our gate.

Three of these golf clubs,Portpatrick, Stranraer and Wigtownshire County offer reduced green fees to our guests. Both Portpatrick Golf Course and Stranraer Golf Courses are listed in Scotland`s top 100 courses. St, Medan`s Golf Course is the most southerly golf course in Scotland.

Further afield, Turnberry Golf Course, home of the 2009 Open and Scotland`s top golf course is only about an hours drive away while Troon is also within the scope of a day trip.

Both Stranraer Golf Course and Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Courses participate in the VisitScotand Gateway to Golf Pass -  3 rounds for £80 or 6 rounds for £120

Portpatrick (Dunskey & Dinvin) Golf Courses

These courses are almost on our doorstep. Dunskey  Golf Course is an 18 hole par 70 golf course on which the 16th is named after our Guest House! The views from many of the tees and greens are outstanding as the golf course is on the cliff top and the vista includes the Mull of Galloway, Northern Ireland and even the Mountains of Mourne can be seen on a clear day!.

Dunskey is listed in Scotland`s top 100 Golf Courses.

The Dinvin Golf Course is a 9 hole, par 27 course.

Full clubhouse facilities,a professionals shop and meals are available.

Lagganmore Golf Course, by Portpatrick

Laggamore Golf Course is only 2 miles from Portpatrick on the Stranraer Road and provides a good course at a reasonable price. The course has excellent views from many tees and greens. This is a pay & play golf course so no need to book tee times and no dress code.

As well as a golf course, Lagganmore also has a driving range. Catering and changing failities are also available.

 

Stranraer Golf Club

Stranraer Golf Course is about 7 miles from Portpatrick. It was the last golf course designed by John Braid. Stranraer Golf Course is also on the top 100 golf courses in Scotland list.

This 6308 yard parkland course in Stranraer is set on gently undulating ground and affords exceptional views over Loch Ryan to Ailsa Craig, the Isle of Arran and beyond. 

Lunches and snacks are available at the clubhouse.

Wigtownshire County Golf Club

This golf course is on Luce Bay near Glenluce, about 12 miles from Portpatrick. It is one of the most popular holiday golf courses in South West Scotland.

This is another 18 hole, par 70, true golf links course which, with its subtly sloping greens and changing sea breezes provides a test of golfers of all abilities.

This club also provides discounts to our guests.

Newton Stewart Golf Club

This is also an 18 hole parkland course, 5840 yards, par 69 with spectacular views from every hole.

Newton Stewart Golf Course is about 35 minutes away from Portpatrick.

  St Medan`s Golf Course

 St Medan`s is Scotland`s most southerly golf course and is a family-friendly 9 hole course laid out on the shores of Luce Bay. A special feature of St Medan`s Golf Course is that there are 18 tees playing to 9 holes making optimum use of the hilly peninsula with its wonderful scenery and sea views.

The golf course is about 40 minutes away from Portpatrick on the way to Whithorn
